| Climatedeal.org is an online, open-content and collaborative question-and-answer platform on climate change related issues. It is designed for anyone knowledgeable or interested to learn more on the topic as a common resource of knowledge. Its main aim is to gather on a shared space contributions on how to solve the various climate challenges the world is facing. The Idea behind it Working as climate change experts in both mitigation and adaptation efforts, we realised the immense need for collaboration and knowledge transfer across sectors, countries, organisations and individuals. Casting this net as widely and broadly as possible is crucially important to drive the actioning of capacity to mitigate climate changes at the scale and pace required for combating climate change. Using state-of-the-art web 2.0 technologies and social networking platforms, we seek to add to already existing channels by providing an open and free online platform which facilitates the much-needed large-scale and swift transfer of expertise and build it collaboratively. What drives Us Climate change is a fact. It poses major, imminent risks for millions of people around the world and for generations to come. Time to find solutions is of the essence, and cooperation crucial. While a treaty between governments to deploy finance is imperative, it is not enough. Effective knowledge transfer and capacity building worldwide is of equal importance, in particular between developed and developing nations. Yet, the pace and urgency at which this transfer needs to occur requires those who contribute to combating climate change to converge in innovative and creative ways of collaboration, across borders, sectors and local contexts. Climatedeal.org seeks to provide exactly that: a platform for a dynamic community enabling its members to access information and spread knowledge on climate change issues in an easily-accessible, free and scalable way. Our Beliefs We strongly believe in reaching clear, equitable and long-term solutions in cooperative ways. We hope to make a difference through collective thinking which can drive solutions and decision making, social networking, and IT technology to brings us closer when we are apart; sharing as a mean to create value and protect ideas, diverse methods to acknowledge value creation and exchange, and specially challenging questions lead change.
