Ask a question

The easiest way for you to contribute is by asking a good question about climate change. Click on the Ask Question button in the upper right corner of the page. Type in a title for your question, and then enter your question in the large box just below it. Try to tag (categorize) it with a relevant tag. Then click the Ask Your Question button. That's it! You can always come back and edit your question later. You do not have to reveal your identity publicly to ask (or answer) a question. You must provide a user name and an email address (never shown).

Answer a question

Do you see a question about a topic you know something about? Click on the title of the question from the list, and you will see all the existing answers. At the bottom of the page you will see a box titled "Your Answer". Type your answer into this box and click Post Answer. That's it!

Share

The site needs to attain a critical mass of visitors to keep it running. If you believe in our mission, then please share it with your friends and colleagues. You can find handy "share" buttons on most pages.

Vote!

In order to vote questions up or down, you need 15 reputation points. This is easy (two up-voted questions or answers will do it), but you must be a registered user to earn reputation. We've posted instructions on how to register. Once you've registered, ask or answer enough questions to get your 15 reputation points, and then vote! Both questions and answers can be voted up. You can also vote down, but you need 100 reputation points, and it costs you one reputation point to vote down. If you do vote a question or answer down, leave a comment to let other readers know what the problem is.

Edit!

With 500 reputation points, you can retag other people's questions to help us keep the site organized, and at 2000 reputation points you can actually edit other people's questions and answers.

Moderate!

With 10,000 reputation points, you've done so much for the community that you become a moderator!
